Happy Tourney Week all! In between college basketball games it’s okay to check out this week’s edition of the Nonsense Newsletter! Why, you ask? With all these basketball games going on, why should I check out the newsletter? Simple — it’s awesome! John Dudley dives into the NL East. I lament about the NBA and there’s a Quick Hits section that is top shelf! So, that should be reason enough to take the time to read this week’s edition while some dude is on the foul line! Enjoy!

We made it. This is the last entry in my MLB Hobby Preview. If you’ve missed any of the others, feel free to check them out here. It’s been a blast to write these and I’ll be checking in on my preseason takes at the All-Star break to see what type of prognosticator I am.
I held off on the NL East as I knew that as a Braves fan, I’d be verbose. I was, but I hopefully gave the other teams their due as well.

There’s less than one week until opening day of the 2025 Major League Baseball season, which means there is no shortage of excitement in my household!
I’ve resupplied my Orioles merch for 2025, and, of course, picked up my new Detroit Tigers cap as well (yes, you can root for two teams.. It’s okay).
Baseball is my mojo, my jam, my kung-fu!
I love it in every respect.
And baseball cards do, and always will, hold a special place in my heart.
Quick Hits
Hobby News- More baseball preview! The two biggest winners in terms of card value this spring have been Bobby Witt Jr. and Corbin Carroll. Witt’s cards are up almost 37% this month according to the Card Ladder Indices and Carroll's are up 22%. Witt is the clear player collectors are betting on, and Carroll has been getting love from hobby writers (me included) and fantasy baseball writers as well as smoking the ball in Spring Training.
Vintage- We need a hockey card fix and we’re going to get one this week as we learn about Fred Clark and his collection. Oh, and, this is a great example of why hockey hobby folks are the best! Read more here.
Hobby News- More baseball preview! Some are already sold out, but Topps has many of the Road to Opening Day Topps Now team sets still available. The sets cost a bit more ($45) than in years past. They did upgrade the parallels to the new foil versions which is a plus. The main reason I buy them is the bonus cards you get sent when a player on the team of the set you bought hits 3 homers or for the cycle in a game or if a pitcher has 15 strikeouts or a no-hitter or perfect game. Getting a bonus card is always a nice surprise and a fun way to follow your favorite team.
