Nonsense Newsletter No. 58: Cade Cunningham is not, Instagram giveaway and so much more!
Sponsored by SGC Cards gosgc.com
In this week’s edition of SCN, I whine about the loss of Cade Cunningham’s season (to a shin injury of all things), and search for a silver lining in the misery of Pistons’ fans like myself. We also have Quick Hits and an Instagram giveaway. So grab some egg nog and a cookie and get all cheery with this week’s Fa.La.La.La.La. Fantastic edition of your favorite newsletter.

It’s raining here in the Motor City this morning, which is fitting wondering the news all of Detroit Pistons fans got this week — Cade Cunningham is going to have surgery on his shin and miss the remainder of the regular season.
Admittedly, the season has not gone according to plan.Â
The team, well, stinks, which is not what most of us expected. The Silver Lining, however, is we now find ourselves in the mix for Victor Wembanyama, and every day without Cunningham, is one day closer we get to landing the French superstar.
Carrying on the theme of silver linings is the fact that Cunningham’s hobby is certain to take a dive — and this fact is something folks like myself view as an opportunity.
Simply put — I’m buying the crap out of Cunningham PSA 10s, which is a real stretch for someone who has like zero modern cards in the fold.
Quick Hits
Grading News- Even with a slew of releases, 2022 Bowman Chrome remains one of the hottest products. SGC’s grading special of $9-a-card for this set only is a great deal to get those fresh Bowman 1sts and Autos graded and returned to you fairly quickly. Most orders seem to be running under two weeks door to door but your mileage may vary based on the shipping services in your area and the holiday season.
Vintage- For all of us who enjoy the vintage market, I strongly recommend this Sports Collectors Daily article from The Wayback Collector. You can check it out by clicking here.
NFT News- You know NFTs are part of the zeitgeist when Tim Allen is joking about them on Disney+. Mainstream is good for collectibles and this report agrees with estimates that the collectibles market will double by 2032 with NFTs playing a large role in that growth.
Pop Culture News- Topps and Star Wars have one last treat in store for 2022 with the release of Star Wars Galaxy Chrome. The set features some of the coolest artwork ever from Star Wars and that is saying quite a bit. The 2012 set is super popular and this will add new versions and some cards with new artwork for collectors to chase. While hobby boxes are pricy, they do come with a guaranteed auto in each box.
