Yesterday, several members of the Panini Blockchain team joined the grassroots Panini Blockchain Discord and did an AMA. The members of the team were Austin and Brett. Jason, VP, Marketing joined the call a bit later.
After the call, the Discord blew up with hyperbolic reactions to the Dunk/Blockchain conversation. Before we get into that, let’s do a quick rundown.
The Panini team mentioned that language translations was just prioritized on the roadmap. This makes it clear that we will have significant numbers of international buyers on the platform in short order. I assume this is related to some of their soccer licensing deals. This is GREAT NEWS! The NBA has become a game with an international following and as such, the more international buyers, the more valuable you NBA and UFC cards should become.

Gifting cards is coming “sooner rather than later”
Further down the line, we will have the ability to combine the gallery and auctions and enhanced marketplace functionality
Jason made it clear that Panini Blockchain is here for the long-haul regardless of what Fanatics does
Jason hinted that there is significant marketing push behind upcoming NFL pack products which later was confirmed that these will be available in 2021
NBA 2020-21 is done with Prizm, expect multiple NBA products for the 2021-22 season. Panini strongly hinted that there will be some additional marketing around these new products, same on the NFL front
Panini is trying to avoid “dead spots” in between challenges going forward
Select baseball is on the way. After the last baseball release which sucked the liquidity out of the market almost overnight, I’m not looking forward to this. (Click the link on the photo below to see my Tatis 1/1!)
They’re looking at a “burning” feature for exclusive packs which will help build in scarcity over time
UFC Contenders product is on the way
On opening up the Blockchain and making it public, Panini was non-committal on this which is understandable. However, the blockchain was built from the start to have the capability to be opened to the public.
Strong hints at Fifa and World Cup functionality being added
Jason STRONGLY hinted that this Blockchain could go beyond just licenses sports cards over time, interesting wrinkle
Jason hinted that there could be a “more dynamic” functionality added to NFTs

Your second last point Panini has been in the entertainment field for at least 8 years. Which nfts could become a part of especially in the music field with payouts to artist being pennies a stream currently can you imagine buy music as nfts.
